John Loiacono of Adobe Systems to deliver day one keynote at 6Sight Future of Imaging Conference
John Loiacono, senior vice president and general manager of the Adobe Creative Solutions Business, will deliver the opening keynote on day one of the upcoming 6Sight® Future of Imaging Conference, to be held Nov. 8 and 9 at the Monterey Conference Center, in Monterey Calif. The theme for that day is “The Digital Eye” – an exploration of the leading-edge technologies being developed to match, and even exceed, the capabilities of the human visual system.
Loiacono is responsible for the development, delivery and marketing of Adobe's creative software portfolio, including flagship brands such as Adobe® Creative Suite, Adobe Photoshop®, Adobe Illustrator®, Adobe InDesign®, Adobe Premiere Pro®, Macromedia Flash® and Macromedia Dreamweaver®.
“Adobe has long been at the forefront of developing innovative imaging technologies” says Alexis Gerard, chair of the 6Sight conference, president of Future Image Inc. and author of “Going Visual.” “However, they have mostly revealed their leadership through their shipping products, rather than publicly discussing their research. We’re delighted that John has chosen the 6Sight conference as the venue to unveil some of the exciting developments that are being worked on in Adobe’s labs, and that will shape the next generation of imaging products and services.”
”The photography industry has undergone the biggest transformation in history and the reality is it’s not over yet,” says Loiacono. “Our continued success relies on the ability for companies to innovate, take risks with technology and seek out new opportunities for growth. It’s exciting to be a part of the 6Sight conference that unites the industry’s best leaders and provides a forum for discussion around how we can all push the limits of the digital image.”
The 6Sight Future of Imaging Conference is jointly hosted by Future Image Inc., the Association of Imaging Executives (AIE), and Photo Marketing Association (PMA). It brings together technologists, marketers, futurists, artists, educators, high-volume users, industry analysts, investors and members of the media for a program emphasizing innovative use cases, breakthrough technologies, and creativity. The two themes of the 2007 edition are the “The Digital Eye” (day one) and “The Visual Voice” (day two) – two themes that, separately and together, make imaging an incredibly dynamic and exciting industry. The Digital Eye program will survey and examine the state of the art technologies being developed to capture and store data that faithfully reproduces our experience of vision – ultra-high image quality, motion, depth and more. The Visual Voice program will explore the implications of the explosive worldwide mainstreaming of image capture and communication, driven by miniaturization, decreasing costs and communication networks.
Loiacono’s presentation will set the stage for a series of follow-on sessions on topics including trends in resolution, dynamic range and sensitivity; face analysis and detection, location-based imaging infrastructures, computational photography, and more.
